Last year Suzy and I often found ourselves saying “When we get older we should open up a wedding venue, it would be SOOO much fun!” Well one day last summer the thought struck us. Why wait? Let’s open one now! So we did. You’ve seen it before, but I would again like to introduce the McGee House, the colonial meets eclectic wedding venue, serving the classy modern bride! And you know what? It is so much fun! Dreams happen.
The whole thing is at a 162 year old colonial house on 22 acres in the gorgeous Kentucky countryside. There’s a cabin on the property that dates back to the late 1700’s, and the house was actually used as local headquarters during the civil war. So those scratch marks you see on the floor. Yup, soldier boots.
Things are just starting to get running full speed with our first set of weddings this summer. So I expect to be posting some more fabulous images from weddings we shoot as we finish them up, as well as ones other photographers will be shooting there. Today I just wanted to put up a fun little post wedding session I did with Serj & Jasmine. You two look fabulous! I hope the drive up from Nashville was worth it!
I also want to thank Deborah Lindquist for making the fabulous dresses for the shoot, Lacey who is probably one of the best hair and makeup people I know, Hunter from Sherwood Design for the fantastic flowers, and Pocket Square clothing for the great bowtie! Jasmine’s sister Hope was also awesome in helping out as assistant for the day!
