    Welcome to the blog! If the banner doesn't make it obvious enough I'll just spill the beans and let you know that we are a full time husband and wife wedding photography team. We love life, God, weddings, and if you slide over our names to the left you'll note a few other things we love.

    We are based out of Los Angeles, and when I say that, I mean our studio is right in the smack dab center of downtown. However, if you start browsing through the blog history you will soon note that we shoot weddings all over the country and world. We put a lot into making our images so I hope you enjoy checking some of them out!

    If you're up for having a great time at your wedding, and our photos have the look you are going for, then feel free to shoot us a note and we would love to chat some more!

Photography 101 VIDEO {a video on how to shoot in manual mode}

This video has been a long time in coming, but I got so many emails asking for a video of our last workshop that I thought I would go ahead and record it! So for those of you who live out of town, or weren’t able to attend, here is a great alternative to coming to the workshop! I’m offering it for only $20 until the end of daylight savings’ time this Sunday. At midnight on Saturday 11/5 the price is going up. However, with the no-risk guarantee below what’s stopping you from getting it right now?

What this video is:

This video is an in depth explanation of how to work your SLR camera in manual mode using aperture, shutter speed and ISO. I explain what each function does, how they work with your camera and how each variable affects your images. I go into a number of examples with images regarding the pros of shooting in fully manual mode and how to make the most of it to completely control the outcome of every single photo you take. This section is aimed at SLR owners who want to learn to shoot manually, or have a basic grasp of manual mode but still aren’t completely solid on how their settings affect each of their images.

This is a 42 minute live lecture (it does not include any shooting) summarizing the first two hours of my photography 101 eight-hour workshop. All the class questions have been removed, as well as the breaks, we took to make sure everyone in attendance was fully tracking. Being a live recording you can expect lower quality audio and video than you would get had it been recorded in the studio without a real workshop in progress. It’s not all that bad, but I just wanted to warn you in advance that it’s not super polished, and hey, even if the recording quality isn’t the worlds best, where else can you learn to shoot in manual mode for only $20? Future installments will have the rest of the workshop.

Finally, just to make this a no-risk investment, here’s the guarantee! If you purchase the video, and watch the whole thing within 7 days of downloading it and feel like it’s not worth every penny of your $20 bucks. I will refund whatever portion you don’t feel satisfied with and have no bad feelings. In other words, if you think it’s only worth $5 bucks I will send you $15 back. If you think, it’s worthless I’ll send it all back. If you think it’s worth a lot more than $20 you can feel free to send me more money, but that’s not required. I’ve taught this specific workshop many times over the past few years and always gotten great feedback, but this is the first time recording it, so additional thoughts or comments, on the quality or content are welome!

Kelly Kardos - Hi Lucas,
You met my husband and his friend at Starbucks yesterday(friday 12/10) and he passed on your blog address to me. He mentioned that you occasionally give DSLR workshops. I would VERY interested to be put on your mailing list if and when one comes up. I recently upgraded from a REBEL XSI to a Canon 50D and she’s a strange character! You and your wife have beautiful sites.
Thank you for your time…Kelly Kardos
