Welcome to the blog! If the banner doesn't make it obvious enough I'll just spill the beans and let you know that we are a full time husband and wife wedding photography team. We love life, God, weddings, and if you slide over our names to the left you'll note a few other things we love.

We are based out of Los Angeles, and when I say that, I mean our studio is right in the smack dab center of downtown. However, if you start browsing through the blog history you will soon note that we shoot weddings all over the country and world. We put a lot into making our images so I hope you enjoy checking some of them out!

If you're up for having a great time at your wedding, and our photos have the look you are going for, then feel free to shoot us a note and we would love to chat some more!

John MacArthur: Servant of the Word and Flock – By: Iain Murray

It was a year ago this week that I first got an email from Iain Murray asking if he could use one of my images for his newest biography. John MacArthur is one of my biggest hero’s, so I was super excited to offer to let him use anything he needed. I know I sent them a good number of images over the last year, but didn’t know which ones would actually make it inside. The book came off the press while we were traveling in Europe the past few weeks, so when we finally got home the first thing I did when I walked in the house was to find the box with my copy and tear it open to have a look! The cover image is not one of mine, but there were a good number of others throughout the book.

I also couldn’t wait to read it, and the very next evening sat down and read the entire thing. Iain Murray does an excellent job highlighting MacArthur’s life thus far. It was especially encouraging and convicting how he focuses on MacArthur’s desire to honor God and uphold the scripture above all else. The other thing which struck me is that I have never read a biography of someone who I know in person. Someone I have interacted with and have observed from not to far off over the past 20 years. It made me realize that it would take another 1000 pages of biography to tell John’s story. It also made me realize that most biographies need to leave a lot left untold.  All said, I would recommend you order a copy for yourself.

I didn’t do the front cover image, but I did make the back cover!

This was a random aerial photo I did of The Master’s college from a helicopter a number of years ago. You can see the tip of helicopter leg I forgot to edit out on the bottom right.

The MacArthur family. A fun thing to note is that not all the people seen are the same place they were in the original image. At least one of the grand kids was Photoshop’d into a different spot. You win a gold star if you can guess which one.

This is a funny photo because it’s actually two images I took over a year apart from each other. I’m not sure who actually put them together, but I see the composite used all over the place. The other funny thing to note is that “Chuck” seen shaking John’s hand wasn’t actually a seminary student or even interested in seminary when that photo was taken. It was only a number of years later that he decided to go to Seminary thus making the caption correct. Maybe that handshake was a turning point in his life!

Another random aerial shot. This one was a little harder to get since they don’t often let private helicopters fly in the Burbank Airport flight zone. We happened to get an “OK” to fly through between the bigger jets during an airport lull.

Cassia Van Dyke - Tommy and I saw your name in the book when he got his GTY copy a few days ago. He noted what a huge honor it is to have your name in not only a John MacArthur book, but an IAN MURRAY book! He is the best Christian biographer there is! So congratulations bro! :)

clyde - Ha! I really like that you edited that picture of Chuck to be in front of the Seminary library at night!
