The Master’s Academy International is the missionary organization I support above all others. I support their philosophy, their ministry, and a lot of other things they do. Earlier this week I heard rumor that their annual symposium and training meetings were going to be held all day Monday and Tuesday not to far from my house. So earlier this morning I got up and told Suzy I was going to go crash the meeting. I thought maybe I could sneak in the back and get a feel for what’s coming up next in the ministry. I also told Suzy I might be back home pretty quick if they didn’t let me in.
I arrived to find a group of 75 men just sitting down for a session led by Bob Provost to learn what the interaction with their supporters should look like. I found a seat in the way back and pulled out my laptop to take some notes. About halfway through his talk, Bob touched a little bit on the importance of social media. As he spoke one of the men who was running the schedule noticed me sitting in the back. He came over and asked if I would be willing to give a little 5 minute talk on the importance of social media with some tips! By no means am I an expert on the subject, but I figured I could at least explain how Twitter works, so I agreed! I took a couple minutes to make some notes and then gave a little presentation. I want to help in anyway I can, so I hope my talk on Facebook, blogging, websites, and Twitter helped someone out there! =). Thanks Rich for taking a few photos of me.
“So to use Twitter, you need to type into a box and click TWEET”
I think one of my legs is shorter! =)
…and I got a group shot of all the directors.
