Welcome to the blog! If the banner doesn't make it obvious enough I'll just spill the beans and let you know that we are a full time husband and wife wedding photography team. We love life, God, weddings, and if you slide over our names to the left you'll note a few other things we love.

We are based out of Los Angeles, and when I say that, I mean our studio is right in the smack dab center of downtown. However, if you start browsing through the blog history you will soon note that we shoot weddings all over the country and world. We put a lot into making our images so I hope you enjoy checking some of them out!

If you're up for having a great time at your wedding, and our photos have the look you are going for, then feel free to shoot us a note and we would love to chat some more!

A little camping getaway {Jalama Beach} Santa Barbara, California

Every now and then you need to getaway, be able to sit in the dirt and not worry about it. I know that sounds kind of funny but Suzy made the comment about sitting in the dirt, just because it’s sometimes nice to be away where you don’t need to worry about combing your hair or doing makeup, getting a little dirt on your clothes, or if there is a little charcoal on your hotdog.

Earlier this week Suzy and I headed up to a little known beach north of Santa Barbara with two other wedding photographer couples for a little retreat. Due to being wedding photographers, we are usually partying at the weddings every weekend, and all our friends with jobs can never seem to make our weekday trips. So hanging out with other wedding photographers has become our solution to that problem. It really is funny how drastically different our world is from what is the norm for so many of you.

We spent the day hanging out at the beach, sleeping in tents, and even went up to a shooting range in the mountains for the afternoon. Suzy got to surf at sunset, and we all got to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Sometimes it’s just nice to be out in nature enjoying God’s goodness and take a little break!

The photos are a combinations of ones I borrowed from the Limelifes, and the Pedrino’s and off my iPhone. You can check out their blogs from the trip as well. =) The LimeLife’s also put a super cool time lapse of us by the fire up! I love it!

Melissa Lawler Pidal - beautiful! jealous of those night shots; I really struggle to get my night shots to turn out and definitely not with that much clarity and lack of noise!
